Insurance

Many DJ’s do not carry insurance and the proper city licenses. The DJ industry doesn’t have any regulations to monitor it. Very few DJ’s have brick and mortar businesses to track their compliance. There have been some occasions, where a client had to drop their previous DJ, because they couldn’t produce a COI for the venue. If a company doesn’t carry liability, who assumes the risk? Does it fall on the venue, the host, or someone else? Carrying proper insurance is a major step with company values and compliance. DJ Ronnie Roux carries the proper event insurance for all occasions.

COI – Certificate of Insurance

A COI is available for small and large events. Our prices are higher than some DJ’s in the region. Having the proper licenses and event insurance adds to our business costs. Corporate Events and Weddings are the most common COI requests. Country Clubs and the such, typically are not looking for any insurance policies. Along with liability insurance, we carry workman’s comp. Some hotels have been asking vendors to show proof for both types of insurance.

Additionally Insured

The COI can list a venue as Additionally Insured. It is always better to hire DJ’s who have proper licensing and event insurance. We ask for a one-day notice on this feature. Most requests are available on the same day. Hiring a DJ who has proper insurance, takes the burden off the client, when it comes to organizing an event.

Waiver of Subrogation

Standard liability and workman’s comp are included in all quotes. In some cases, a venue will ask for Waiver of Subrogation. This is an extra fee and will apply per instance. If it is necessary for the event-insurance policy, please contact us for pricing.
